People categorise jealousy as a vice.
Not at all.
Jealousy is a green light.
Jealousy will show you what you want.
Of course it is not always what it appears to be. It may take several attempts to figure out what it really is that you’re jealous of.
You may believe you are jealous of your friend’s car; deep down you are probably jealous that they are upholding a certain image, or have the disposable income to make such a purchase, or have allowed themselves the freedom to acquire what you won’t.
Jealousy becomes a vice if you use it to self-soothe (of course you know this won’t work). It becomes a vice if it is not transformed into self-reflection and action.
You can turn jealousy into a plan of action by recognising it for the green light of desire it really is, and then reverse engineering it.
Who are you most jealous of, and why?
How did they get to be that way?
How can you adapt their journey for yourself?
